<<< She is Nora. A very nice gal. Norita is her nickname. (I shared with her the山渣餅 I brought along. She like it !)
Most of them have nickname. For example, Pépé for Jose (in general). Maxi for Max. But Nora once said ‘Maxi’ is too sweet to call. Hahaha. (Sorry)
Some of them are not local and many come from Argentina. They tend to lower their voice when telling you that someone is an Argentine. They seemed trying to hint you but I don’t get it at all. Frankly, they all look the same to me. (Sorry again.) Generally, I find them sociable and warm (rated between Asian and Angmo). Most of the girls have makeup. Tell you, they are very good in eye makeup.
<<< They call it 'Cerror'. They say Monterrey is surrounded by cerror. I would imagine my client cutting the cerror and grind them into cement. hahahaha.
The only landmark nearby the hotel is 'Vante Artirantau', the most expensive bridge built in Monterrey, that the people frown on. The government built this bridge but you hardly see vehicles driving pass. However, it is important for me. I have to mention its name so that the taxi drivers know where to drop me off.
I don't know how I survived the 2 weeks there. Not sure if anyone in the office would want to do that. I never thought of saying no when I got that assignment. Was I lucky or just unlucky to get to know this place and it’s people (even if just on surface only). Anyway, I enjoyed the trip as far as I can recall. It is an experience for me.
Just bits and pieces of memory I have for the trip, back in August 2004. Time flies.
